Calgary man charged with murder of Saskatchewan resident denied bail

A Calgary man charged with the murder of a Saskatchewan man was denied bail in Calgary provincial court Feb. 10. Fayiah Victor Braima, 23, was arrested Feb.

A Calgary man charged with the murder of a Saskatchewan man was denied bail in Calgary provincial court Feb. 10.

Fayiah Victor Braima, 23, was arrested Feb. 7 and charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Sheldon Wolf, 47, of Carrot River, Sask.聽

Wolf鈥檚 body was found in a rural area north of Airdrie Feb. 4, days after he was reported missing from Calgary.聽

According to Calgary Police, Wolf鈥檚 family last saw him when he left the Sandman Hotel in downtown Calgary on Feb. 2 at about 7 p.m. He never returned. His family reported him missing Feb. 3.

An autopsy on Feb. 7 identified the victim as Wolf and determined the cause of death to be homicide.聽

Calgary Police say evidence connected to Wolf鈥檚 disappearance was discovered in Elliston Park and a search was done on Feb. 4. They didn鈥檛 reveal details of the evidence.聽

鈥淲e are determined to get to the bottom of what happened to Mr. Wolf,鈥 said S/Sgt. Martin Schiavetta, Calgary Police Services Homicide Unit.聽

鈥淣o visitor should ever come to our city and be concerned about their safety. At this time we believe he willingly met with individuals who he had no previous relationship with prior to coming to Calgary."

Braima鈥檚 next court appearance is Feb. 24 in Calgary provincial court.聽
