When it's not powering self-driving cars or tracking your every online purchase, AI - artificial intelligence - has a side gig creating art.
WOMBO AI is a Canadian artificial intelligence company that earlier this year released an app called WOMBO Dream. The app, and through an , uses AI to combine word prompts with an art style to create beautiful and completely original paintings in a matter of seconds.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» ran several Vancouver-specific search terms through the app and came out with some… intriguing results.

The prompt “Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Affordable Housing” (run through the fantasy filter of course) spat out a jumbled wall of apartments stretching into cloudy skies. Pretty accurate.
The “Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Mountains” prompt turned out a gorgeous piece that looks like an oil painting of the city with a mass of mountains and trees looming above it.

WOMBO was even able to conjure up the famous English Bay Barge with the prompt “Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Barge.” While the shape of the barge leaves something to be desired, the red rusty colour is spot on.
“Stanley Park” generated using the Ukiyoe filter turned created a mix of city structures, water and greenery that gives off a vague ancient Japanese feeling.
