Here's why there's an 'Animal Control Northwest Seattle Division' building in Vancouver

Is Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»considered northwest Seattle?

In South Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»there's a building at the intersection of Manitoba Street and West 68th Avenue that seems a little out of place.

Several signs on the outside of the building identify it as "Animal Control Northwest Seattle Division."

While Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is indeed northwest of Seattle, calling it Northwest Seattle is somewhere between rude and a bizarrely low-key international invasion.

In fact, it's not a case of local animal authorities extending their jurisdiction nearly 200 km, but actually a sign from something much more common: Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»playing the role of somewhere else.

Animal Control is a TV show on Fox TV starring Joel McHale (Community); it was shooting in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»over the fall and winter months. In fact, McHale has a wild story about trying to get from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»to Seattle while on a break from the show during the holidays.

The building at 8275 Manitoba St . After shooting ended, the art and signs stayed up, perhaps with the hope the show would get a second season and they could reuse it.

And in May it got renewed.
