Locals looking for a sunny reprieve will find several opportunities over the long weekend.
While spring has seen colder than average temperatures in the Lower Mainland, Environment Canada is calling for some dry, mild weather over the May long weekend.
Starting on Thursday (May 19), the forecast includes sunshine and a high of 13° C during the day and clear skies with a low of 7° C overnight. Friday is also expected to be mainly sunny and the temperatures are expected to climb a couple of degrees to 15° C.
Saturday is predicted to be warmer still, with a high of 17° C and a low of 9° C. Sunday's forecast includes similar temperatures, but the skies are expected to be clear with bright sunshine.
Monday is expected to be the warmest day of the long weekend, with a high of 18° C, but it is also expected to see a mix of sun and cloud.
