Dressew has been in downtown Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»near Victory Square since 1961. The building it occupies is now for sale and the business must close down, say owners.

Another Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»family business that's served the city for decades has announced it's closing.

Dressew has been operating in downtown ; the business was founded by Roger McKie as Dressmakers' and Milliners' Supply House and is still run by his family.

"We are heartbroken, angry and just numb that it has come to this," reads the post.

In a follow-up post, after hundreds expressed sadness at the announced closure, the owners thanked the community for the support but noted the decision to close was final, even if a date hadn't been set.

"We’ve known for a little while things were headed in this direction and keeping it bottled up wasn’t great for our physical and mental health," reads the post.

They note efforts have been made to save Dressew, but "Dressew in its current form is lost."

A closing date hasn't been set as it depends on when the building, built in 1905, .
