An elderly woman was shoved to the ground and threatened with a knife in the Strathcona neighbourhood, say Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»police.
The 74-year-old was walking to the bus stop at 5:30 p.m. on Friday (Nov.11) evening when an unknown man approached her and shoved her to the ground. He then threatened her with a knife and demanded money, according to a news release.
When she started to scream, the suspect fled the scene without getting any money. Witnesses also came to the victim's aid after hearing her screams.
VPD officers searched the area but were unable to identify a suspect.
"The victim was shaken up, and has minor cuts and scrapes," explains the VPD.
The suspect is a man who is possibly in his teens or early 20s, with a medium build, and was wearing a grey hoodie at the time of the incident. He was last seen in the area of Heatley Avenue, near Union and Prior Street.
Witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam video who was in the area around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday is asked to call Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police at 604-717-4022.
