The 鶹ýӳPolice Department (VPD) Mounted Unit shared an adorable video of its horses playing with a rubber chicken.
The geldings have gathered in a semi-circle, which the VPD quips is for their "first day back at work team meeting," according to a tweet.
Police joke that there are "some very serious topics to consider," adding a "thinking" emoji and a chicken one.
One of the statuesque horses, a dark bay with a white blaze running down the centre of his face, has the gag chicken toy in his mouth, giving it the odd squeeze that produces a comical sound. The bright orange-red bird sort of sounds like it is letting out a slow-motion moan in pain.
The other horses also take an interest in the flimsy toy, and one of them even appears to try to snatch it away.
First day back at work team meeting! Some very serious topics to consider 🤔 🐓.
— VPD Mounted Unit (@VPDHorses)The VPD horses are all geldings and range in age from four to 23. They are all darker in colour and the most successful ones are typically draft horses. This is because draft breeds tend to be more docile in nature and aren't as likely to spook at things while on the job.
The horses live in Stanley Park and they patrol the park and downtown, ready to help with crowd control.
