A B.C. Muslim outreach group is sharing a video of a woman who shouted a slew of hateful comments toward members of the group while they were at one of their outreach stations in downtown Vancouver.

The group, called the Bridging Gaps Foundation, promotes community tolerance initiatives in Canada through education, integration and outreach programs.

In a Facebook , the group writes that they were in downtown Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»on Dec. 27  for one of its weekly "Meet a Muslim" educational events.

"We welcome all questions and conversations and look forward to introducing Islam and [the] wealth of intellectual and spiritual traditions it contains," writes the group. "We also look forward to opportunities where we can dispel misconceptions about Islam people may have due to lack of information."

At one point during the event, the group writes that "a lady walked up to our team and started abusing, swearing and harassing the team as well as some [passersby]."

The group adds that a kind couple stopped by and offered assistance. They also contacted the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Department to ensure the safety of their team and property.

In the video, one of the group members asks "Do you have a message for all Muslims?"

The woman shouts "[Expletive] you" in response. She also refuses to leave the area when one of the group members asks her to leave since the conversation is "no longer productive."

After being asked to leave again, she insists that the group shouldn't be "advertising" religion in the street and says that "we hate Islam."

In its post, the Bridging Gaps Foundation writes, "Unity and Co-Existence cannot be achieved with ignorance. Education is a key factor in ensuring we develop strong communities and eradicate bigotry."
