For book lovers, passionate writers, and aspiring authors, this Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»festival is the place to be.
But, the is also more than many books and authors under one roof, and there are just as many notable, fun events to attend at the festival.
Here is everything you need to know about this year's Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Writers Fest and which events to bookmark:
The week-long, nearly fully in-person event takes place October 17 to 23 at various locations on Granville Island (depending on which event you are attending). A fundraiser 80s-themed dance party takes place ahead of the fest itself on Sept. 22 at the Fox Cabaret.
There will be 80 VWF events this year, including "discussions about the state of modern journalism, the loss of reproductive rights for women, and a conversation about the rise of Indigenous storytelling around the world," according to the festival website.
Events vary in price, but those in theatres cost $25 (except where indicated) and members, seniors, and youth under 30 years old get a discount. Youth events are $10 per person and digital youth events are free or pay-what-you-can.
