Environment Canada calls for plunging temperatures in the Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»weather forecast for the end of December 2022 heading into January 2023.

While Vancouverites have seen a warmer reprieve from bitterly cold weather this week, temperatures are expected to fall next week, bringing the possibility of flurries.

Starting on Thursday (Dec. 29), Environment Canada calls for periods of rain during the day and a high of 6 C with a low of 4 C overnight and showers. Friday's forecast includes more wet weather, with rain during the day and an 80 per cent chance of showers at night.

The weekend is expected to see a mix of sun and cloud on Saturday and Sunday. And while both days will see temperatures slightly above the seasonal average during the day, Sunday night's forecast includes an overnight low of 1 C.

Monday's forecast has a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high of 4 C, with temperatures falling to freezing overnight and bringing the possibility of flurries. Similarly, Tuesday is expected to see showers during the day with an overnight low of 1 C and the possibility of flurries.

Since the flurries are forecasted several days out, Environment Canada notes that the forecast may change.
