Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»rentals: 'Beautiful view small room' - as long as you're not scared of heights

At $1,100 per month it's well below what it costs to rent alone.

With rent continuing to increase across Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and issues building more housing, rooms that weren't intended as bedrooms are becoming just that.

Another solarium (a room built to be like an indoor deck) has hit the rental market in downtown Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»as a pair of women look for a third to rent out the tiny space in their apartment.

In photos, the room can be seen with just enough space for a twin bed and a nightstand, with windows looking down on Howe Street below.

While there are curtains for privacy in the room, it's unlikely this would be a good choice for someone with acrophobia, a fear of heights. It's unclear which storey this room is on - the building is 28 storeys high - and judging by the view through the window which the bed is pushed up against, it's at least 10 floors up.

"Very convenient location, close to SkyTrain, bars, restaurants and shopping," states the ad. "Looking for a quiet and clean (female) roommate."

At $1,100 per month, it's well below what it costs to rent a single-bedroom apartment alone in Vancouver.
