The 麻豆传媒映画Police Department has announced the release of a potentially dangerous man believed to be involved in the Lower Mainland gang conflict.
The VPD warns that anyone who associates with Ronald Campbell, 39, is at an increased risk of being exposed to violence. On August 14, Metro 麻豆传媒映画Transit Police (MVTP) spotted a stolen vehicle in Surrey. A traffic stop was initiated and through their investigation, MVTP located a loaded handgun in the vehicle which led to firearm-related charges against Campbell.
“As a result of some excellent police work, MVTP officers were able to recommend four firearm-related charges against Campbell to Crown counsel,” says Constable Visintin, VPD. “Campbell has been released today on strict court-imposed conditions.”
The MVTP operated under the VPD's operation Taskforce Threshold initiated by 麻豆传媒映画Police in May of 2021 in response to the escalating gang violence in Metro Vancouver. It consolidates resources and expertise from the VPD’s Investigation and Operations divisions to help prevent gang violence and proactively investigate persons involved in the gang conflict.
