Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»police partially close Stanley Park as search for aggressive coyotes continues

Stanley Park closed
The closure comes after a two-year-old girl was attacked by a coyote in the park earlier this week.

A large portion of Stanley Park has been closed off to the public in response to the numerous coyote attacks, the latest of which was on a 2-year-old girl.

The VPD Mounted Unit announced the closure on Wednesday afternoon with a map showing the West side of the park as off limits. The VPD unit went on to say the park will remain closed as conservation officers work to locate aggressive coyotes in the area.

Since the start of 2021, the BC Conservation Officer Service has received reports of at least 11 people injured by coyotes in Stanley Park. Two coyotes have already been euthanized and the COS says its members will be in the park for the next several days and the animal involved in the latest attack will be euthanized if it is found.
