One man is dead after a stabbing in the Downtown Eastside.
Just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, officers responded to calls in Chinatown about a man in medical distress at Gore Avenue and East Pender Street.
"Investigators believe the man was stabbed during an earlier altercation two blocks away, at East Hastings and Dunlevy Street," states the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Department (VPD) in a press release.
The victim, William James Coffin, was 40.
Police state two suspects have been identified. They were arrested on June 12 in East Vancouver, but have since been released.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500," states the VPD.
