The marquee for Vancouver's long-standing loves a good clapback with a side of social commentary, and this week they've nailed it again.
"Better security than the US Capitol" reads the all-caps letters of the sign at the strip club.
The comment, of course, points to the apparent ease with which insurrectionists under the banners of "MAGA," QAnon, Proud Boys, and other extremist movements, were able to crash the barriers and gain access to the capitol building and disrupt the U.S. Congress as they debated certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Locally, pro-Trump demonstrators gathered outside of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Art Gallery this week to protest the result of the United States presidential election.
The Penthouse sign, which is so often right on point, has injected a little levity for Vancouverites who have been glued to the unsettling coverage from south of the border this week, marking the final days of the Trump presidency.
And so the Penthouse - which recently marked 73 years of entertaining Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»- continues its own cheeky contemporary legacy of speaking the truth with a bit of humour.
Here are a few more signs from the Penthouse marquee:
