The Park Board calls the sign Vancouver's own "little holiday gift"

A full month after its arrival, the English Bay barge has received its very own Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Park Board sign. 

Judging by an , the "Barge Chilling Beach" sign was erected by Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Park Board staff the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 15. The date marks a significant anniversary for the beached wood chip barge as it was 30 days ago today a severe wind and rainstorm caused it to break loose from its moorings and wash ashore.

A photo of the sign was shared by the Park Board on social media along with a holiday message for the city. 

"Our little holiday gift to you, Vancouver. No matter what storms life may send our way, we’ll always be here for you. Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday and a prosperous 2022!" the Park Board's statement reads.

The barge's own social media presence @EnglishBayBarge shared an image of the sign declaring "Victory."
