Earlier this month Visintin paid a visit to her former elementary school to talk about the fundraiser. On the day of Visintin's visit the students were able to pass up their usual uniform to support the Canadian Cancer Society by wearing something yellow and bringing a donation.
"It meant so much to me that they did that. One of the most important things I learned while being at the school was the importance of helping those in need," Visintin wrote in an email to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³». "I hope that by doing the Cops for Cancer ride, I can show the students that giving back doesn’t stop once you leave the school."
The tour is a five-day cycling ride throughout Metro Vancouver. The team will ride 100 kilometres each day together.
