This Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­gas station has dropped under a buck a litre today

It finally happened, folks.

While it might have seemed like a fantasy mere weeks ago, gas prices in the City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­have officially dropped below a buck a litre.

At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11., a few gas stations in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­were showing prices as low as 125.9 cents per litre. However, prices continued to fall, and, as of 4:20 p.m. later that day, one gas station was showing 119.9 cents per litre - the Super Save at 1317 E 12th Ave and Clark Drive. As of 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, however, gas prices in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­had fallen as low as 115.9 cents per litre.

Since then, gas prices have fallen a whopping 15 cents down to 99.9 cents per litre at the Chevron at 2918 Kingsway and Killarney Street. What's more, the Chevron at 8884 Granville Street and SW Marine Drive is offering gas for 101.9 cents per litre.

After that, three Chevron stations, at 5252 Victoria Drive and E 26th Ave, 1212 Hastings Street and Vernon Drive, and 2605 E 49th Street and Elliott Street, are offering gas for 102.9 cents per litre.

A couple of Petro-Canada stations and one Esso are also offering gas for as low as 105.9 cents per litre.

On March 10, Dan McTeague, President, Canadians for Affordable Energy, formerly of GasBuddy.com, predicted that gas prices would drop a whopping eight to 10 cents in a single day on Wednesday, Mar. 10

Gas prices are also falling across the rest of Canada, with many stations selling well below $1 a litre as of March 19. In fact, McTeague expects gas prices to drop to a 76.9 cents per litre in the Greater Toronto Area.
