Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»firefighters prepare for dangerous scenarios by putting themselves in simulations of them -- and the reproductions look strikingly close to the real thing.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) shared a video on Dec. 6 on social media of the inside of its "burn building" that they use to simulate precarious conditions that firefighters face on scene.
"Simulating fire conditions provides firefighters the ability to observe fire dynamics and see how various suppression techniques impact conditions before we enter actual building fires," explains the tweet.
The video shows massive orange flames flaring up from a bed toward a vent above it in the ceiling.

Spokesperson Cpt. Matthew Trudeau told Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» that the VFRS training centre is located at 1330 Chess St and fire crews routinely conduct fire ground operations to keep "interior attack skill high."
During fire ground operations, firefighters will focus on a variety of different skills, including rescuing trapped occupants, fire attack, ventilation, and communication skills.
Additionally, probationary firefighters start their training at this Vancouver location "to learn the basics of firefighting on the grounds and inside the burn building," added Trudeau.
