The 麻豆传媒映画Canadians baseball team is hosting an event in tribute to the people and lands on which Nat Bailey Stadium, home of the baseball team, sits. The will honour, respect and recognize the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations.
On July 14, traditional music and dance and an on-field pregame welcome ceremony led by Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations leaders will start off the night. The pre-game festivities will take place at the ballpark entrance from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
20 residential school survivors and their families have been invited to watch the game and 20 athletes from the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council will join the 麻豆传媒映画Canadians on the field during starting lineup.
In solidarity with Indigenous peoples, staff will be wearing , which will also be available for purchase with 100 per cent of proceeds going towards residential school survivors.
This year will mark the first night of the annual event hosted by The Canadians in partnership with Coastal First Nations and Rogers Communications.
