Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»resident Lindsay Muldoe won $1 million on a Lotto 6/49 draw.

A Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»woman is looking forward to a fun holiday season this year after a huge lottery win.

Lindsay Muldoe won $1 million after matching one of the white balls in the Gold Ball draw attached to the Lotto 6/49 draw on Oct. 30. She only realized the win after checking online.

“I was visiting family and when I saw the winnings in my PlayNow account, I thought it was a mistake,” says Muldoe in a BC Lottery Corp press release.

“I woke up my mom and then called my husband. They were shocked and excited!”

It seems everyone was shocked.

“I’m still in shock but it will be a good Christmas this year!” says Muldoe.

While it's a life-changing amount of money, she is aiming to keep life fairly normal, though she has "lots of exciting ideas" on how to spend her winnings, including looking at a new house.

Muldoe's win brings the total won in B.C. via the lottery up to $137 million through 2024.
