UPDATE: 5:57 p.m.
Both the (VSB) and School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) have decided to close Monday as well.
Staff will still be onsite at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»schools, the board says on its website.
"Schools will be open in a very limited way for those families that do not have any possible alternatives," states the VSB.

Both the Mission and Langley school districts won't be opening their schools to students tomorrow, June 28.
And now Delta has, too.
The extreme heat from the ongoing heatwave led to the decision.
"This closure is based on considerations including building site specifications such as layout and access to air conditioning at our sites," states Langley Schools on their website. "The District recognizes the impact and stress this district-wide closure will have on our families. The health and safety of our students, staff, and school community is our priority."
It's much the same in Mission and Delta.
"Many of our Elementary Schools do not have air conditioning that is sufficient to keep classrooms cool in those circumstances, eg below 26 Celsius. Therefore, we are closing schools to students on Monday, June 28th, for the entire School District," writes the Mission school district on their website.
Teachers in Mission and Delta are still expected to show up to work.
All three districts ask that families check Monday for plans for Tuesday, June 29. For many districts classes end on June 29.
Other districts have acknowledged the extreme heat, but say classes are going forward. For example, the Burnaby school district has sent out a message with tips on staying cools and advising students should come to school in breathable, loose-fitting clothing and sunscreen. The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»school district tweeted out tips from the BC Centre for Disease Control.
As of publication, these are the only three districts that have announced closures, but others may follow. Check with your local school districts for the most up-to-date information.
