A man and woman have been charged in relation to a murder that happened in March last year.
On March 21, 2022, at 9:52 p.m. Abbotsoford police officers responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the 3500-block of Latimer Street.
Patrol members and B.C. Emergency Health Services located a man suffering from gun shot wounds who eventually succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as 41-year-old Abbotsford resident Chad Colivas.
An online fundraiser was started for Colivas shortly after his death.
On May 26, 2023, over a year since the incident, IHIT investigators along with members of the Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) arrested Tanner Fox, 22, and Laetitia Acera, 30, in relation to the homicide.
Fox has been charged with second degree murder and Acera has been charged with Manslaughter.
“This has been a dynamic and complex investigation,” says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT.
