The Commercial Drive community has plenty of good options for food.
And soon there will be two more options for a quick meal.
Signs are up for Mary Brown's Chicken and Barburrito next to each other on East Broadway, near the intersection with Commercial Drive.
Both are opening up in a new building; they'll be located at 1651 and 1653 East Broadway. It appears another new tenant is moving into 1655 East Broadway, but no signs are up for that location.
Mary Brown's Chicken started in 1969 in St. John's, Newfoundland. Now there are around 300 locations across Canada and one in Northern Ireland. The chicken chain has one other location in Vancouver, at 6549 Main St., along with other in the region.
Barburrito started in Toronto in 2005; there are now around 200 locations across Canada. There are several in Metro Vancouver, but none in the City of Vancouver. The Tex-Mex chain is unrelated to the British chain with the same name.
