TransLink has announced that another batch of Adult Compass Wristbands is on sale to the public again.

The transit authority notes that customers may purchase the adult wristbands in either of the customer service centres while supplies last (there are 10,000 available). However, customers won't be able to purchase the concession wristband yet - TransLink is still waiting on that product to arrive.

On Thursday, November 29, 2018, the transit authority announced that it was offering 1,000 blue adult wristbands and 1,000 orange concession wristbands in order to gauge public interest in the product. Following this, customers lined up early in the morning and the wristbands were completely sold out by 9:30 am.

Some people even tried to make a profit off the coveted payment option by reselling the wristbands on Craigslist. While they sell for $6 each directly from TransLink, some CraigsList ads were asking over $70 for each one.

TransLink states that it plans to monitor the uptake of this larger batch of wristbands and will order more if demand remains high.

Compass Wristbands work the same as Compass Cards — tap in and out when travelling on transit and reload online, at a Compass Vending Machine, by phone or in person. Just like a Compass Card, customers pay a $6 refundable fee when they purchase a wristband. With that in mind, riders should ensure that they tap the part of the wristband that displays the contactless symbol.

Visit the Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium–Chinatown Station (Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or the West Coast Express Office in Waterfront Station (Monday - Friday 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.) to pick up an Adult wristband while supplies last.
