A routine traffic stop netted 鶹ýӳpolice a loaded gun and a slew of charges against a North 鶹ýӳman and two teens.

At around 8 p.m. Thursday, 鶹ýӳpolice officers on patrol spotted a black Ford Escape traveling the side streets of the Downtown Eastside, just south of East Hastings. The constables stopped the car because it had no insurance. There were three teens in the car along with a 46-year-old North 鶹ýӳman, and a loaded .22-calibre Glock firearm.

All four people were arrested and taken to jail. Police also found a “significant amount” of drugs when the suspects were searched after the arrest.

The North 鶹ýӳman and two of the teens, 18-year-old and 17-year-old boys from Vancouver, are now facing a number of drug and weapons charges. A 16-year-old 鶹ýӳgirl was released without charges.

鶹ýӳpolice say officers have seized more than 150 firearms so far this year.
