At some point we've all tried to catch a snowflake on our tongue.
It's just what people do.
And this Anna's hummingbird.
Yesterday Josh Hallem of Barigord Studios (a local video company) caught the footage below of the hummingbird flitting about, including several successful snowflake catches.
In the video, which has been slowed down, you can see the little bird flying up to snowflakes and opening its beak for a brief moment to catch the little piece of floating ice.
It's very on-brand for Vancouver, even more so given that the Anna's hummingbird is the .
The video also catches the little bird having a quick scratch during a break from snowflake collecting.
