The Dude Chilling Park sign has been stolen leaving just the signposts remaining in place.
"We just think it was stolen for a souvenir because it has limited value as a salvage metal," says Park Board manager of park operations Alex Downie.
Dude Chilling Park is located at Brunswick Street and 7th Avenue in Mount Pleasant and its sign was last stolen in 2014.
Downie says it's an unusual situation as they generally have more problems with people stealing bronze plaques and pieces of public art or with replacing signs that are hit by cars.
He says they're going to use "vandal-proof" fasteners to secure the replacement sign, which should be installed by Friday, July 6.
