A man charged with a Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»break and enter recently did impressions of cartoon character Woody Woodpecker in a court appearance via video.
Myles Charles Archer appeared before Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Provincial Court Judge Jennifer Oulton on Nov. 24 for a bail hearing.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Department spokesperson Const. Tania Visintin said officers responded to a residential building near Homer and Pacific streets on Nov. 23 after reports of a break and enter.
“The suspect climbed the scaffolding outside the building and gained access to the 28th floor,” Visintin said.
Archer was arrested and taken to jail that evening, Visintin said.
He is charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit an offense.
While details of a case discussed in a bail hearing are generally covered by a statutory publication ban, an accused’s behaviour in court is not.
Several times, Archer did impressions of Woody Woodpecker, a cartoon character known for a maniacal laugh.
Oulton put Archer’s case over to Friday, Nov. 26. He remains in custody.
“That’s all, folks,” added Archer.
