An employee at a Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Walmart store has tested positive for COVID-19.
Walmart Canada confirmed the test-positive case with V.I.A., indicating the associate is employed at the South Surrey Walmart Supercentre at 2355-160 St.
The employee last worked on April 16. No information about the employee's age, gender, or role at the store was provided.
Walmart Canada says they have contacted Fraser Health regarding the test-positive case.
"Out of an abundance of caution, associates identified as being in close prolonged contact have been directed to self-isolate. We have regular enhanced cleaning in the store and other social distancing measures in place," stated a rep for Walmart Canada.
Walmart Canada added that they "will continue to take measures necessary to ensure the well-being of our customers and associates."
"We are keeping the associate in our thoughts and wish them a speedy recovery," said Walmart Canada.
