An employee at The Teahouse in Stanley Park says he has tested positive for COVID-19.
On its answering machine, the restaurant states: "Here at the Teahouse, we take the health and safety of our customers very seriously, and at this point have decided to temporarily close our doors for a deep cleaning of our premises."
The Teahouse adds that it will reopen in the near future, but does not provide an explanation as to why it has closed doors.
In a phone call, a staff member who wants to remain anonymous and works at the front of the house in The Teahouse tells Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He adds that three other employees have also tested positive for the virus.
Matt Kieltyka, Acting Communications Leader for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health, tells V.I.A. that the health authority cannot comment on why the restaurant closed its doors.
