Heavy rainfall in the Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»weather forecast prompted the city to close the Stanley Park Halloween Ghost Train on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024.

The Stanley Park Ghost Train has been slowed to a grinding halt thanks to the rainfall warning in Vancouver

The City of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»notified the public early Friday, Oct. 18 that it was closing the Halloween attraction due to "extreme weather" over the weekend, including "heavy rain and strong winds."

All Ghost Train rides are cancelled on Friday to prioritize staff and guest safety.

Customers will receive an automatic refund by Showpass to their method of purchase. Since the show is completely sold out on all dates, they can't exchange tickets for another date.

"We apologize for any disruption to your Halloween plans with loved ones, and thank you for your patience and understanding," the city states on its website.

The city hasn't said if the train will operate on Saturday or Sunday. However, Environment Canada expects Saturday to have the heaviest rainfall in the city, with an additional pulse of rain on Sunday.

The Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»weather forecast shows 40 to 70 mm of rainfall, with higher amounts potentially exceeding 100 mm over the North Shore Mountains.

The Stanley Park Ghost Train operates through Halloween (Oct. 31), from 6 to 10 p.m. There are matinee rides from 2 to 5 p.m. on Oct.19, 20, 26, and 27, weather permitting.
