Not even the coronavirus pandemic can shake Vancouver’s Halloween spirit, which has popped up again this August in the form of a store.
The seasonal shop, located at 130 West Broadway, is one of two Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»locations and 1,300 in Canada and the U.S. that have survived the economic downturn of a global health crisis.
Back in June, unsubstantiated claims spread about Spirit Halloween likely not being able to reopen in Vancouver. But this summer, the San Francisco-founded company confirmed: “the rumours aren’t true.”
“We heard you're crushed, disheartened, and downright sad. Well, don't worry,” Spirit Halloween said in a reopening announcement on social media.
“It's been a challenging year, but we promise to keep the Halloween spirit alive.”
Staff at the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»stores are now welcoming shoppers with social distancing protocols in place.
The franchise sells a selection of Halloween costumes, masks, wigs, accessories, makeup, and decorations.
