Snow way?! Chance of flurries in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»forecast later this week

Environment Canada has the chance of snow in its Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»forecast this week.

We've had quite a few balmy, sunny, downright spring-like days in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»this January, but as the month comes to a close, we could be dusting off our gloves and snow boots.

Environment Canada's 7-day Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»forecast calls for a couple of days at the end of the week with a chance of flurries. (Plus, if you use your iPhone's weather app and live in Vancouver, you might also be seeing "snowflakes" lined up for a string of days starting Sunday, Jan. 24, too.)

Starting the evening of Thursday, Jan. 21, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is looking at overnight lows dipping below the 0C mark, going as low as -4C on Friday night. However, the night of Saturday, Jan. 23 is when we see a 60 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries, which carries over into the forecast for Sunday.

Of course, it is winter, after all, and while temps have been mild, snow isn't out of the question at all.

"It's halfway through winter--so we have another half to go through," Environment Canada Meteorologist Doug Lundquist recently told V.I.A. "And we can get snow--definitely in the latter part of January, February and sometimes March."

This time last year Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»was treated to some snow; remember the striking image of a mariachi musician trudging through the cold, wet, white stuff in Gastown?
