You might want to consider working rain boots into your New Year's Eve attire.

Environment Canada has updated the Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»weather forecast to include a rainfall warning. The warning states that rain, at times heavy, is expected from now through Tuesday evening.

A frontal system moving southwards down the B.C. Coast will give heavy rain to parts of Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»tonight and Tuesday. As such, total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are expected through Tuesday evening, which could cause localized flooding in low-lying areas.

The weather alert also cautions that you should watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
