A rain warning has been issued by Environment Canada for most of Metro Vancouver, including the City of Vancouver, Burnaby and Coquitulam.
The federal weather agency expects 50 to 70 mm of rain to fall across the region.
"A moisture-laden frontal system will bring heavy rain to the BC South Coast. Rain will begin this morning and will continue through tonight. Rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 mm are expected before the rain eases on Monday morning," they state in the warning.
Along with the rain some areas will experience gusts up to 60 km/h starting the afternoon.
The warning has also been issued for eastern Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Island (but not Victoria) and Howe Sound. It doesn't include the southern areas of Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»(like Delta and Surrey).
Environment Canada cautions drivers to beware of the conditions while driving.
"Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance," they suggest.
