‘Potential for wet snow’: Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­put on alert ahead of snowfall

Subzero temperatures and snowfall are on the forecast for Metro Vancouver’s first December weekend in 2021. 

is warning of the potential for wet snow falling on the City of Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, the North Shore including West Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­and North Vancouver, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Surrey, Langley, Richmond and Delta.

“A low pressure system brushing the south coast will bring a chance of wet snow to the Fraser Valley and Howe Sound,” the federal forecaster’s special weather statement reads. “For Metro Vancouver, areas above 200 metres are more likely to see wet snow.”

The snowfall is expected overnight Friday (Dec. 3) and the morning of Saturday (Dec. 4).

“Currently, the trajectory of this low suggests a low probability of accumulating snow for this time period,” the statement continued.
