The Celebration of Light has wrapped up another year of explosive sky shows.
The annual fireworks celebrations is the largest event each year in Vancouver, with hundreds of thousands watching at least some of the event from somewhere in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»each night.
This year, teams from Malaysia, Portugal, and the U.K. entertained the crowds, along with airshows from Red Bull planes.
However, how popular is it with locals?
Some people are not fans, as the fireworks can scare those who've had traumatic experiences with explosions, like veterans. Animals, both domestic and wild, can be frightened of the explosions.
It seems support for the event is average in the city, with just over half of respondents in favour of it (around 56 per cent).
The response to this year's poll shows slightly less support for the Celebration of Light than last year, though the difference in the polls is within the margin of error for both polls.
In 2022, V.I.A.'s poll on the event showed around 66 per cent of readers were a fan of the event.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» polled 1168 readers and asked the question: Do you like the Celebration of Light?
The poll ran from 7/17/2024 to 7/29/2024. Of the 1,168 votes, we can determine that 551 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:
Results are based on an online study of adult Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» readers who are located in Vancouver. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 2.87%, 19 times out of 20.
