Poll: Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back in stores, but are Vancouverites excited?

Judging by the poll, it's unlikely you're drinking a PSL yet.

Vancouverites are mixed on when to get their PSL fix.

Over the last few years, pumpkin spice lattes have become so popular with a large group of people the drink has become a fashion accessory as much as a type of drink.

With Starbucks leading the PSL charge each year, many look forward to this time of year as the spiced coffee drink returns to the massive chain. This year the popular drink returned before August had finished.

So Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» asked readers to weigh in on when they start enjoying the drink.

Even though the drink is a popular subject on social media and online, the 'never' option won out by far, with more than two-thirds opting to never take a sip of the drink.

Of those who do partake, the biggest group won't reach for a cup until October, a month after the drink is being offered.

While those two groups may cause some to pause and ask why bring the drink back so early, it should be noted that the third largest group, or about 8.5 per cent of readers, will start drinking pumpkin spice lattes as soon as possible; that's a sizable number of fans.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» polled 832 readers and asked the question: When do you start drinking pumpkin spice drinks?

The poll ran from 8/30/2022 to 9/4/2022. Of the 832 votes, we can determine that 402 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

As soon as possible 8.21 % local, 8.53 % total
Not until September starts 3.23 % local, 3.97 % total
Once the leaves start to turn 4.98 % local, 4.09 % total
Not until October 12.19 % local, 11.90 % total
Once it's cold in the morning 4.73 % local, 5.05 % total
Never 66.67 % local, 66.47 % total
  Local   Total

Results are based on an online study of adult Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» readers that are located in Vancouver. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 3.4%, 19 times out of 20.
