A fireworks incident that took place inside a Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»school Thursday morning has left two teens with injuries and has prompted a police investigation.
The incident took place just after 10 a.m. on October 31 by the gym entrance of David Thompson Secondary School (1755 E 55th Ave) in Fraserview.
According to the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Police Department, an unknown person set off a firecracker, hitting two male students as they passed by.
One of the teens was taken to the hospital for a facial injury while the other had temporary hearing loss.
The VPD says the suspect has not been identified, so it is unclear if the person who set off the firecracker is another student at the school.
An investigation is underway, with the VPD’s Youth Services Section in charge.
School Liaison officers will be working with school administration and parents as the investigation unfolds, adds the VPD.
Anyone with information about the incident should call investigators at 604-717-3144.
