Arachnophobes have a new reason to avoid Victoria Drive and Broadway.
Tucked away underneath the Victoria Drive Bridge is the newest creation by Junko Playtime: Phobia.
And the name fits.
The huge spider-like creation appeared recently, hanging against a rock wall in the Grandview Cut, between Commercial-Broadway and Renfrew stations. The creepy piece of art is larger than a person.
Like Junko's other creations, it's made of, essentially, junk, including pieces of a car.
In photos posted on Instagram the Montreal-based artist shows how he rigged the creation to hang against the wall, with a single rope coming out of its rear like a web.
It's unclear how long Phobia will stick around. His last piece done in a similar way in Vancouver, Queen BX1000, stuck around for several weeks. More recently he did a pair of pieces that were set up in Downtown Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»as part of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Mural Festival's winter event.
