Open burning restrictions lifted for Metro Vancouver

The open burning restrictions that have been in place in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­since March 27 have been lifted.

Any open burning activities in the region must be authorized through an Open Burn Approval obtained from the Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Regional District, in addition to any authorization as required by Municipal Fire Departments or the B.C. Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development.

Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­continues to monitor air quality as well as the COVID-19 situation and is working closely with partner agencies. Residents and businesses are encouraged to follow the orders and recommendations of the provincial health officer.

Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­is responsible for managing and regulating air contaminants in the region.
