鶹ýӳartist Heather Johnston creates images of 鶹ýӳthat are at the intersection of photography and painting. Her new self-published book, 鶹ýӳCollection Book, aims to highlight the city’s most cherished landmarks and street corners, as remembered by those who have lived in the city.
“Interspersed between the beautiful photography are memories from local Vancouverites, stories from people who have lived, loved or worked in the buildings and places that I photograph”, says Johnston. “As the rapid urban development of 鶹ýӳcontinues and the city's post-war character diminishes, I feel it is important to capture and preserve these experiences in a beautiful fine art book that can be cherished now and by future generations.”
