Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»is getting a new place to party.
Local nightlife continues to grow and find novel ways to have fun, from the city's newest nightclub to a local DJ that hosts unique raves and giant parties.
Another space for music lovers is opening its doors soon.
Popular outdoor music event organizer Sunwave is opening a new-age industrial venue to serve as an exclusive hub for its musical experiences.
"It is built with a state-of-the-art sound system and full minimalistic redesign of an old warehouse. However, it is not a club," Sunwave tells V.I.A. in an email. "We've built a growing subculture and community of electronic music lovers in Vancouver, and we're not really about the 'clubby downtown vibes'."
The venue, called Wave Space, is opening on March 25 with a series of international headliners, including Radio Slave from Berlin and Annika Wolfe from Los Angeles, who will , to introduce the space to Vancouver.
The venue will host up to three public events each month, with invite-only events featuring select organizers and promoters throughout the rest of the month.
The location of Wave Space will only be made available to ticket-holders for now, Sunwave notes.
More open-air events in Vancouver this summer
Locals can expect a lot more than a new party space from Sunwave this year.
This summer marks the event organizer's 10-year anniversary and to celebrate Sunwave will be organizing 10 open-air events across the city.
A season-opener will take place at the Museum of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Garden Patio, with more functions planned at Koerner's Secret Garden at UBC, Shaughnessy Street Park, and several pop-up events at Kitsilano Beach and New Brighton Park.
