Diamonds were found this past summer by a Coquitlam resident while digging a new plant.
In June, after returning home from Langley, a ring was discovered in a potted plant they purchased, and the good Samaritan turned it in to local Mounties.
Now, roughly five months later, the detachment is turning to the public in hopes that the ring's rightful owner will come forward.
"Due to the unique design and features of the ring, we believe that it may hold sentimental value to the owner," said Coquitlam RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins in a release today (Nov. 1).
"It's possible that the owner was not aware where they lost the ring given the circumstance in which it was found. We hope that appealing to the public will help reunite the ring to its rightful owner."
The ring was turned over to the police on June 10, and was purchased at Langley's Walmart Supercentre .
It's described as:
- Custom-made
- Yellow gold
- Encrusted with diamonds in the letter "L"
- Unique features
To claim the ring, Hodgins said the owner must provide ownership to investigators, including details of inscription and other identifying marks.
If you believe the ring is yours, you're encouraged to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file-number 2022-14493.
