Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»gas prices have surpassed yet another sky-high record this week.
On Sunday (March 6), numerous people took to social media to share images of stations across Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»selling gas for 209.9 cents per litre, marking an all-time for the region.
The prices at the pumps broke a record set merely days before, on Friday (Mar. 4), when gas was selling for 200.9 cents per litre at several outlets.
Locals remarked that the city now has the "highest gas prices in North America" and questioned if they will continue to rise.

Dan McTeague, the President of Canadians for Affordable Energy (and formerly of ), warned drivers earlier this week that gas prices would increase to over 1.94 cents per litre at the pumps; he also predicted that prices would climb over $2 by Friday.
As of Monday at noon, the petroleum analyst should remain at 209.9 cents per litre heading into Tuesday. And while that wouldn't be a new record, it is significantly higher than most of the other Canadian cities, except for Victoria, which is expected to see gas prices at 204.9 cents per litre.

For my American followers, C$222.9/L is approximately $6.81 US a gallon and that’s for regular!
McTeague expects gas prices to continue to climb in Canada with an increase on Apr. 1 due to the Trudeau government's carbon tax, which will for industrial greenhouse gas emissions from the current $40/tonne price.
