After 52 days of sun and heat, Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»finally saw rain, even if it was only for a couple of hours on Saturday.
According to Rolf Campbell, a weather historian and forecaster, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»saw the “wettest Aug. 7” since the 1900s with 22.1 millimetres of rain having fallen by 11 a.m. yesterday.
A graph, posted on Twitter by Campbell, showed Vancouver’s most observed rainfall for the day was in 1943 with 19.3 millimetres.
On August 7, 2020, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»saw 4.6 millimetres of rain placing last year in the 10th spot.
According to Environment Canada, a 40 per cent chance of showers is expected for Sunday with some rain to appear early afternoon.
