A Metro 麻豆传媒映画family is planning a classic trip to Disneyland after winning big in a Canadian lottery.
It seems Surrey's Alan Medeiros and his family were cautious about accepting the good news when he won $500,000 on the Daily Grand draw on April 3.
“I validate my tickets at the same store I buy them,” said Medeiros in a BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) press release. “I first scanned the ticket myself, then asked the person there to scan it!”
Then, when he told his family, there was a level of disbelief.
“Everyone thought I was just joking, then my wife sent me a direct message to confirm," he said.
The big win means Medeiros and his family are planning to celebrate with a "dream trip to Disneyland."
The trip will be the exciting part of the win; the rest of Medeiros's windfall will go to investments with an eye to the future.
“It’s nice to think that I can work because I want to, not because I have to,” added Medeiros.
