Ever wondered what all those rows of “sold” signs on Vancouver’s major arterials will turn into? One such land assembly, on Oak Street at 64th, is slated for this Arno Matis Architecture-designed (AMA) trio of condo buildings.
AMA has to the City of 鶹ýӳto rezone the lots from single-family RS1 zoning to CD-1 (Comprehensive Development), which allows for multiple units.
AMA, which is known for its architecturally stunning, contemporary designs and frequent use of wood, aims to create three six-storey residential buildings along Oak Street.
The buildings will contain 100 per cent market residential units (no social or below-market housing), totalling 130 condos (31 studios, 49 one-bedroom, 36 two-bedroom and 14 three-bedroom units). There would also be two levels of underground parking with 151 parking spaces and 169 bicycle spaces.
Ten of the 14 three-bedroom units would be located on the fifth and sixth floors, with all the sixth-floor two-and three-bed penthouses enjoying access to private roof terraces above.
A community open house on the project will be held from 5.00-7.00pm on Tuesday, March 6, at the Marpole Oakridge Community Centre, 990 West 59th Avenue.
