An early morning stabbing at a Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»SkyTrain station sent a man to hospital.
Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Transit Police (MVTP) and Surrey RCMP responded to reports of a stabbing on board a train at Surrey Central SkyTrain Station just after 1:09 a.m. on Saturday, April 15.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his abdomen and has since been released.
A suspect is not yet in custody and it is not known yet what led to the stabbing. MVTP notes that the incident does not appear to be related to any previous incidents on transit this month.
This is the most recent violent assault on transit over the past two weeks.
A "serious assault" happened Friday (April 14) morning on a bus in the Downtown Eastside.
Earlier this week, a 17-year-old was stabbed to death on a bus near King George SkyTrain Station in Surrey.
On April 1, a man on a bus in Surrey survived a throat-slashing. Abdul Aziz Kawam was charged with four counts under federal terrorism laws, alleging a link to the Islamic State terrorist organization.
